Adoption Report

Hola, Amigos! That’s Spanish for Hello, Friends!

Wow, I just went on my second mission trip to Bolivia and, boy, was that plane ride ever long! But, I enjoyed every minute of it because I got to charm everyone with my smiles

and by blowing kisses at them! I even made great friends with Tyler Washington (the 7 month old son of missionaries DaRonn and Angie Washington). We both get so excited when we see each other! I also really enjoyed playing with all the kids at the Washington’s orphanage. You can even sponsor one of them by going to www.christnationministries.org. Be sure and tell them that I sent you! Smile! Let’s see, umm, what new things am I doing since I last wrote you? Well, I am standing on my own, and I am just about to walk! Gotta go! Love ya’!

Isabella’s First Birthday Party!

On December 19, 2006, we celebrated Isabella’s first birthday with a big party at our house. We had many guests come and joined with us in celebrating this momentous occasion!

The party was an Angel theme since Isabella is our little angel.  Mommy made a cupcake tree out of organic cupcakes (which were actually very good), but Isabella was not too impressed with even organic sugar.  We have done our best to keep her off sugar her first year, and she did not take to it quickly.  It was rather funny that everything else usually goes in her mouth, but she was not sure what to do with the cupcake!

Lisa (otherwise known as Mommy) had a great idea for Isabella’s presents.  Since Isabella has had so many wonderful gifts given to her by people all over the country, Lisa felt that it would be a good idea if everyone bought something for a little girl Isabella’s age.  We then took the presents to the Angel Tree for Christmas.  We wanted to bless other less fortunate girls at Christmas.

Of course, not to worry, Isabella still received many nice presents at the party and through the mail.  For all who gave her presents, we thank you!

By the way, at 13 months, she is a little over 21 pounds and 30 inches long.  She is growing and is the joy of our lives!

Adoption News—Isabella Rebecca Boehm

This Child for which We All Prayed!

We wanted to let you know that our daughter, Isabella Rebecca Boehm, was
born on Monday, December 19th in Isabel, Guatemala.  She is 5 lbs. 8 oz. and
is 18.5 inches long.

Adoption Report

After 3 miraculous months of waiting in Guatemala, Isabella is Home in America!  Yes, miraculous! We have used that word frequently over the last few months as we have walked through this process. Allow us to chronicle some of them for you as a way to proclaim the faithfulness of our God!

1.  So many of you graciously gave financially so we could do the adoption. We had all the money that we needed! Thank you, Jesus!

2. We prayed throughout 2005 that Isabella would come that year! We actually received the phone call on   December 20, 2005 that she had been born on the 19th. Incidentally, the 20th was the 22nd anniversary of when Hal proposed to Lisa!

3. We also learned that her birth mother had named her Isabella. She did not know that was the name we would give her as well. Coincidence? We don’t think so! Confirmation? YES!

4. Speed of the process in Guatemala! Even though we were there for 3 months, compared to other cases we saw down there, it was a short time. When we were at the U.S. Embassy, there were about 25 other parents there, and Isabella was by far the youngest in the group! Everyone was asking who our lawyer was.

5. We feel that meeting Mirella, our lawyer, was a miracle in itself. She is a Godly woman of integrity.

As you can see, we could go on and on with all the miracles! And, they continue even to this very day!

We want to thank all of you who have stood with us in prayer and celebrated with us over this incredible    miracle that the Lord has brought into our lives!

If you are believing God for something and you have His promise, then no matter how hard it gets, don’t give up! When it seems something else has come along and you think God is taking too long, don’t give in!  So many times we have looked at Isabella and thanked God that we did not give up nor give in. She is God’s promise manifested!
